The Hellenic Bridge Federation’s guide to conduct at the table and to alerting in Greek events, including when a simple alert is not enough and a “special alert” is required.
Alerting at a glance
- Basic rule
- Alert conventional calls. When a simple alert would mislead, make a "special alert".
- How to alert
- The partner of the player who made the call takes the alert card from the bidding box and shows it.
- Stayman
- 2♣ Stayman after partner's 1NT opening is not alerted.
- Pre-alerts
- Pre-alert variable 1NT ranges and unusual but permitted weak openings, at the one or two level.
